Before you skip over this project because you think it looks super hard and complicated...please KEEP READING! There is something here for everyone and I will explain below. You can also follow along with my videos at the bottom of this post to make your artwork with me! This project is way easier than it looks.
Hold up! Did you see that video?! Do you feel amazed and inspired yet? I really hope you do because I'm going to introduce you to this awesome artist and we are going to make our own artwork in his style. But a little background info first!
Clym Evernden studied fashion design before going on to make artwork for brands such as Samsung and Louis Vuitton. He has also created artwork for companies around the world! He calls his drawings "Folded Stories" and when you watch his videos, they really do feel like a story! Clym's video came up after I was looking at the artist from our last post (Vincent Bal) and I knew right away that you guys needed to see his work too! Clym's drawings change each time he unfolds the paper and by the end he has a completely different drawing than the one he started with! SO COOL! Make sure you check out his other video at the bottom of this post. You don't want to miss it. Shadow drawings are a BIG hit right now since we are spending more time at home and more time outside! I've seen a lot of people doing shadow drawings and if you are not doing them yet, this is your chance! Let me first introduce you to Vincent Bal. He is our inspiration for our shadow drawings. Vincent started these drawings in 2016 after he noticed the shadow from his tea cup looked like an elephant. He added a few lines to complete the elephant and after seeing the awesome responses to his drawing, he started to make a drawing every day with a new object from his house. He likes to call his drawings "Shadowology." You can follow Vincent on Instagram @Vincent_bal to see the new drawings he creates each day! This is one of the easiest projects with the COOLEST results! You can't mess this one up. My favorite part about these tie dye circles is how unique they are. No two circles are the same. The picture above is from one of my Kindergarten classes. We had so much fun making these and watching the colors blend together that I just had to share it on the blog! Let's get started!
Trash: We all have it at home. I'm talking about empty cans, cereal boxes, scrap paper, aluminum foil, and whatever else you can find that can still be used before it goes into the trash can for good. Basically, you're a superhero and your job is to save trash from ever visiting the trash can. But how do you do that? There are 2 ways to do this...
For this drawing challenge, you have to ask yourself "What if?" Draw 1 prompt or all 4 or combine two together! Get as creative as you can with this drawing prompt and be really detailed. Draw a full picture - include the sky, ground, who you are with, etc. Help us to see what you are imagining in your mind! When you are done, give your artwork a creative title.
